Jennifer Humitz is a compassionate and skilled child therapist at Positive Kids, specializing in individual and group counseling for children with big emotions. As a mother herself, Jennifer understands firsthand the challenges that parenting can present, which enhances her ability to connect with both children and their families in meaningful ways.

With a Master’s degree in Social Work from Madonna University, Jennifer holds certifications in School Social Work and Non-Profit Leadership. She also earned her Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University, with a minor in Public Relations.

Jennifer brings a versatile approach to therapy, using various modalities to meet the unique needs of each child. She is particularly gifted in employing psycho-educational techniques and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) when working with young people, though she is not limited to these methods. Her ability to adapt her therapeutic style ensures that children receive the support they need in a way that resonates with them.

Jennifer’s professional background includes working as a School Social Worker at Clarenceville School District and an Oncology Social Worker at Henry Ford Health Systems. She is skilled in developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), and leading support groups. Additionally, Jennifer is a certified yoga instructor, CPR certified, and CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Prevention & Intervention) certified.

Through her holistic and nurturing approach, Jennifer empowers children to navigate their emotional challenges, helping them build resilience and thrive in a supportive environment.
