We are excited to invite you to apply for an internship with Positive Kids SEL, a program designed to provide a rewarding and enriching experience for aspiring mental health professionals. At Positive Kids SEL, we are dedicated to fostering the growth and development of future mental health professionals through our comprehensive practicum and internship programs.
Our programs are tailored to align with your educational background and previous counseling experience, ensuring that you gain valuable hands-on experience in the mental health field.
Prospective candidates are required to submit the following documents via email to hr@positivekids.ca
All practicum and internship students must complete a criminal background check before beginning their placement. This check, which includes fingerprinting by the state police, must meet school, agency, and state standards for working with minors and clients in the mental health industry in Michigan. The background check can be facilitated by the agency or completed beforehand if compliant with relevant standards. Please refer to the Criminal Background Clearance section for more details.
Students are expected to commit 15-20 hours per week, though this may vary based on individual and school requirements.
Qualifications
By the end of the internship, students will be equipped with the following skills and knowledge:
Awareness of personal and professional limitations and the ability to make appropriate referrals to support client counseling goals
